The Garden Dress is designed for woven fabrics. If sewing French seams, we recommend using a light weight [2 to 5 oz] fabric. A cotton lawn, voile, poplin, a linen or even a silk taffeta or noil would work well. If sewing plain seams, a medium weight fabric would work [5.5 to 6 oz]. Please keep in mind, if using a mid weight fabric, the ties and button loop may be hard to turn.

Matching thread, 1 button that is 3/8 inch [10 mm] to 1/2 inch [12 mm] in diameter and double fold bias binding [if you choose not to make your own] that is 1/4 inch [6 mm] in finished width. A 3/16 inch [0.5 cm] width twill tape is optional if you’d like to stabilize the back slit.
